Eric Jonasson (Guitar, Accordion, Keyboards & Vocals)

Eric was born in the hinterland of Manitoba and grew up listening to Hank Williams and Flatt & Scruggs. Like most youngsters, he took the prerequisite piano lessons in public school and participated in school choirs. After listening to jazz and boogie-woogie piano his musical perspective broadened. As a result, he started syncopating and re-arranging classical pieces on piano much to his piano teacher's disapproval. During high school, Eric learned to play trumpet and tackled a wide variety of music, from 40's swing to the Theme to Hawaii 50. This DVB founding member and Torontonian is as comfortable playing rock tunes behind a rack of keyboards as he is singing sea shanties or punching his accordion. When not working for a Community Health Association, Eric is always involved in something musical. Eric's fondness for country, bluegrass and folk music came about after exposure to The Good Brothers at the Coronet Motel in Kitchener. Eric Loves to bring socially conscious songs like "Don't Drink the Water" into the mix. From there things just evolved and here we are today. Punch the accordion for a song featuring Eric.
